Pokemon Survivor bosses show up five times in a run, at minutes 3, 6, 9, 12 and 15. Each one is a regular Pokemon picked from a stat-total range, given a large health pool, and it drops coins, a held item, XP orbs and a heal orb when it falls.

This page lists when each of the Pokemon Survivor bosses appears, its health solo and with two to four players, the attacks it uses and what it drops. Bosses are separate from rifts and the Judgment of Arceus; for how to reach minute 15 alive see Pokemon Survivor tips.

When each of the Pokemon Survivor bosses appears and its health

A boss is a non-legendary Pokemon whose stat total falls in the range of its slot and that has not already been a boss in the same run. In all, 254 different Pokemon can be a boss. Health grows with the clock, and the game multiplies it by x1.82 for 2 players, x2.24 for 3 players, x2.66 for 4 players.

Boss attacks

Every boss uses Stomp, one of Dash or Leap, the ranged attack that matches its type, and one more ranged attack. Fire, ground, poison, rock and grass bosses prefer Rain; electric, psychic, dragon, ice and steel prefer Beam fan; fairy, ghost, water and flying prefer Nova; every other boss prefers Volley. The game does not name these attacks, so the labels are ours.

The damage columns show the hit before armor, for the first boss and for the fifth.

How a boss fight works

  • Enrage below half health. The boss moves 15% faster, its attack timers run 25% faster, the warnings of Stomp, Dash, Leap, Volley and Nova shrink by 20%, and there is a 35% chance the next attack follows after only 0.3 s. A red ring and a message mark it.
  • The crowd thins out. While a boss is alive, regular spawns drop to a quarter of normal and the periodic tides pause. Rift markers do not roll either, and the skipped roll does not count as a miss.
  • Bosses fly and do not budge. They pass over obstacles, are never knocked back, and a slow effect still works on them.
  • Moods. A boss alternates between staying close and staying far. Bosses with ranged behavior prefer the far mood, back off when you get near and circle at a distance.
  • Shiny bosses exist. A boss has the same 1 in 4,096 shiny chance as every other enemy.

Boss rewards, missions and achievements

Every one of the Pokemon Survivor bosses drops 10 coin pickups worth 5 coins each (50 coins), one held item, 14 XP orbs, a heal orb that restores 30% of your health and a magnet orb. About one boss in three also drops an x10 ticket.

  • Daily mission: "Defeat 1 or 2 bosses" pays 3 x1 tickets and 250 coins.
  • Weekly mission: "Defeat 4 or 6 bosses" pays 1 x10 ticket and 900 coins. See missions.
  • Achievements: Giant slayer for 1 boss (2 x1 tickets), Boss hunter for 25 (1 x10 ticket) and Terror of bosses for 100 (2 x10 tickets). Rift legendaries count as bosses.
  • Held items: the item a boss drops is random. See the held items, for example Focus Sash and Life Orb.
