A Pokemon Survivor shiny is a second look for a Pokemon that you can pick as your partner. There are three ways to meet one: a gacha pull, a wild enemy and a rift legendary, each with its own odds.
This page lists the Pokemon Survivor shiny odds, what happens when a shiny falls and which Pokemon have no shiny at all. The pulls are explained on gacha and the legendaries on legendaries.
Pokemon Survivor shiny odds
Only Pokemon with a shiny sprite can roll shiny, which is 958 of the 966 in the game.
| Source | Odds | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Gacha pull | 1 in 100 per pull | Any rarity. A duplicate shiny pays three times the coins of a duplicate. See gacha. |
| Wild enemy | 1 in 4,096 per enemy | Every enemy that spawns, bosses included. A shiny enemy has twice the health and five times the XP. |
| Rift legendary | 1 in 512 | Rolled when you step into the rift, together with which legendary waits there. See rifts. |
What a shiny gives
- Defeat a shiny enemy and it is yours. You get the shiny version, and the normal version too if you did not own it. A shiny you already own pays 300 coins.
- The game saves it at once. A shiny you caught is in your collection the moment the enemy falls, even if the run later ends in defeat.
- Shiny pulls do not repeat. If a shiny pull lands on a Pokemon whose shiny you own, the game picks another Pokemon of the same rarity whose shiny you are missing, and gives a normal one only if you own them all.
- Pick it as your partner. Once you own a shiny, a Normal and Shiny switch appears on the Pokemon and you can choose either version as your partner.
Hunting shiny enemies in a run
- You will see it. The game shows a message when a shiny spawns near you, the enemy twinkles with sparkles and its health bar is pale blue.
- It stays put. Ordinary enemies that fall far behind are moved back in front of you, but a shiny is left where it is, so you can circle back for it.
- Bring damage. It has twice the health of the same enemy, and the five times XP is worth the fight. The best damage dealers are on the tier list and in best Pokemon in Pokemon Survivor.
