Barraskewda moves
Pokemon that are not starters begin with the signature move of their first type, so Barraskewda starts every run with Water Gun: a piercing jet. Reliable at any range.
The level-up cards can then offer 13 different moves: the 8 Normal moves that every Pokemon shares plus 5 moves of its own type. Moves level up to level 5 and can evolve once you also take the stat card they need, which is covered in the move evolution guide. The permanent Repertoire upgrade adds a second, random starting move; see the upgrades guide.
- Normal moves: Tackle, Quick Attack, Swords Dance, Agility, Harden, Body Slam, Hyper Voice, Substitute
- Water moves: Water Gun, Bubble, Hydro Pump, Aqua Ring, Bubble Beam
Weaknesses and resistances
Barraskewda takes extra damage from Electric (1.6x) and Grass (1.6x). It resists Fire (0.6x), Water (0.6x), Ice (0.6x), and Steel (0.6x). The remaining 12 of 18 types deal normal damage. The chart is softer than the main games: a super-effective hit is x1.6, a resisted hit x0.6 and an immunity x0.3, and two types multiply with each other inside the range 0.3 to 2.4. See the type chart guide for every matchup.
The multipliers apply to the damage you take, and enemies attack with the first type listed for them, so the dangerous enemies for Barraskewda are the ones whose first type is Electric or Grass. Boss shots carry their first type too. Weather does not change these numbers, but it changes your own damage; see the weather guide. There is no same-type bonus, so Water moves do not hit harder just because Barraskewda shares the type.
How to get Barraskewda
Barraskewda is part of the Galar banner. A single pull first picks a rarity (17% for Rare) and then picks one of the 23 Rare Pokemon on that banner at random, so one pull gives Barraskewda a 0.74% chance. Without pity helping at this rarity, expect to need around 135 pulls for this one in particular, although the pulls you spend on the banner also fill the rest of your collection.
A pull costs one ticket and ten pulls cost ten tickets or one x10 ticket. Tickets are earned in runs, from missions and from chests and are never sold for money. A duplicate turns into 60 coins, or 180 if it is the shiny version. The full odds and the pity rule are in the gacha guide.
A rarity-3 Pokemon like Barraskewda can also turn up as the Lost Pokemon event in a run. Lead it to the marker and, one time in five, it joins your collection; you always get coins, a ticket and a heal.
Barraskewda has no shiny sprite in the current build, so its pulls are never shiny.
Barraskewda as an enemy
Barraskewda can show up as a regular enemy from 4:20 into the run (enemy tier 4). Each run draws only seven Pokemon per tier, so it is in some runs and absent from others.
Its enemy role is shooter: it keeps its distance and fires shots at you from range.
It is also strong enough to be picked as a boss: it can fill the minute 3 slot. Boss fights are laid out in the bosses guide. Its attack set would be a ground slam, a straight charge, a ring of shots, and a fan of beams.
