Who are the best Pokemon in Pokemon Survivor? By the game's own stat table the answer is Slaking, then Eternatus, Mewtwo, and Regigigas. This page ranks all 966 Pokemon with a Stat Score you can recompute yourself, and then explains what the score cannot see.
Treat the best Pokemon in Pokemon Survivor as a starting point. The ranking comes from the data files, not from a playtest, and the moves you pick during a run matter more than which Pokemon you start with. The full ranked list is on the tier list page; for a first pick, see Pokemon Survivor starters.
How the Stat Score works
Each Pokemon in the game has three numbers that matter in a run: max HP, an attack multiplier on every move you fire, and movement speed. For each of them we measure how far the Pokemon sits above or below the average of all 966, then combine the three with weights of 50% attack, 25% HP and 25% speed, and rescale the result so the best Pokemon scores 100.
Ranks are then cut into tiers: S for the top 5% (48 Pokemon), A for the next 15% (145), B for the next 30% (290), C for the next 30% (290) and D for the last 20% (193). The role is whichever of the three is furthest above average: damage, tank or speed, or balanced when none stands out.
The score is computed from the stat table and has not been confirmed by playtesting, so we publish the formula instead of a verdict.

The best Pokemon you can realistically get
Many of the top ranks are 5-star Pokemon, which come from the gacha at 1.5% per pull with a guaranteed one by pull 70. These are the highest-ranked Pokemon below 5 stars, which come up much more often:
- Starters are base-stage Pokemon with modest stats. The best of the 29 by the same score are Scorbunny (rank 650), Sobble (rank 660), and Grookey (rank 693). You choose one on your first run and can switch to any Pokemon you own later, so pick for fun and move up once the gacha gives you something better.
| Rank | Pokemon | Types | Tier | Rarity | Banner | Chance per pull |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 | Kartana | Grass / Steel | S | 4-star | Alola | 0.33% |

| 32 | Blissey | Normal | S | 4-star | Johto | 0.36% |
| 33 | Cetitan | Ice | S | 4-star | Paldea | 0.22% |
| 38 | Excadrill | Ground / Steel | S | 4-star | Unova | 0.25% |
What the score does not tell you
The moves you can learn depend on the Pokemon's types: every Pokemon can draw from all 8 Normal moves plus the moves of its own one or two types. A pure Normal type such as Slaking gets only those 8, three of them buffs, while a Fire and Water type like Volcanion gets 19.
There is also no same-type damage bonus, so a Pokemon's type only widens its pool and sets which enemy attacks hurt it; see the type chart. A wider pool gives you more moves to evolve, as move evolution explains.
Among the best Pokemon in Pokemon Survivor, these S and A tier picks have the widest pools: Volcanion (19 moves, rank 142), Iron Moth (18 moves, rank 39), Armarouge (18 moves, rank 136), Delphox (18 moves, rank 143), Salazzle (18 moves, rank 151), Victini (18 moves, rank 169), Ho-Oh (17 moves, rank 50), and Blacephalon (17 moves, rank 55).
How to use this list
- Pick a main from the top of a tier you can get, then buy its upgrades one at a time; upgrades are bought per Pokemon, so see upgrades.
- Prefer a Pokemon whose first move you enjoy; each one's page lists its first move and its full pool in the Pokedex.
- Keep one melee move in your active group for the 25% damage discount, whatever you play.
Best Pokemon in Pokemon Survivor FAQ
Who is the best Pokemon in Pokemon Survivor?
By Stat Score it is Slaking, with 100 points, but its pool of 8 moves is the smallest in the game. A wider pool often matters more in a long run.
What is the best starter?
By Stat Score the best three are Scorbunny (rank 650), Sobble (rank 660), and Grookey (rank 693), but starters are base-stage Pokemon and the best of them ranks only 650 of 966. See Pokemon Survivor starters for the full table and the test answers that give each one.
Are legendary Pokemon better?
Not by default. All 87 legendaries are 5-star and come only from the gacha, but many non-legendary Pokemon rank above them. Legendaries also appear as rift fights and in the Judgment of Arceus.
Does type matter?
It decides your move pool and which enemy attacks hurt you, not your damage. There is no same-type bonus in this game.
