Stats and Stat Score
Excadrill has 120 HP, 115 speed and a 1.44x attack multiplier. The multiplier scales every move it uses, so it is the number to watch.
Compared with the whole roster, its HP is among the best on the roster, its speed is above average and its attack is among the best on the roster. Weighting attack at half and HP and speed at a quarter each gives the Stat Score of 80.1, which puts it at rank 38 overall, rank 5 of 141 among Unova Pokemon and rank 3 of 70 Ground-types and 4 of 61 Steel-types. The score comes from the game's stat table, not from playtests, so read it together with the best Pokemon guide.
On the full Pokedex ranking Excadrill sits next to Zamazenta one place above it and Iron Moth one place below it.

Excadrill moves
Pokemon that are not starters begin with the signature move of their first type, so Excadrill starts every run with Mud Shot: splashes mud around and slows foes.
The level-up cards can then offer 15 different moves: the 8 Normal moves that every Pokemon shares plus 7 moves of its own types. Moves level up to level 5 and can evolve once you also take the stat card they need, which is covered in the move evolution guide. The permanent Repertoire upgrade adds a second, random starting move; see the upgrades guide.
- Normal moves: Tackle, Quick Attack, Swords Dance, Agility, Harden, Body Slam, Hyper Voice, Substitute
- Ground moves: Mud Shot, Bulldoze, Bonemerang, Spikes
- Steel moves: Metal Claw, Flash Cannon, Meteor Mash
Weaknesses and resistances
Excadrill takes extra damage from Fire (1.6x), Water (1.6x), Fighting (1.6x), and Ground (1.6x). It resists Electric (0.3x), Poison (0.3x), Rock (0.36x), Normal (0.6x), Flying (0.6x), Psychic (0.6x), Bug (0.6x), Dragon (0.6x), Steel (0.6x), and Fairy (0.6x). The remaining 4 of 18 types deal normal damage. The chart is softer than the main games: a super-effective hit is x1.6, a resisted hit x0.6 and an immunity x0.3, and two types multiply with each other inside the range 0.3 to 2.4. See the type chart guide for every matchup.
The multipliers apply to the damage you take, and enemies attack with the first type listed for them, so the dangerous enemies for Excadrill are the ones whose first type is Fire, Water, Fighting, or Ground. Boss shots carry their first type too. Weather does not change these numbers, but it changes your own damage; see the weather guide. There is no same-type bonus, so Ground or Steel moves do not hit harder just because Excadrill shares the type.
How to get Excadrill
Excadrill is part of the Unova banner. A single pull first picks a rarity (6.5% for Epic) and then picks one of the 26 Epic Pokemon on that banner at random, so one pull gives Excadrill a 0.25% chance. Without pity helping at this rarity, expect to need around 400 pulls for this one in particular, although the pulls you spend on the banner also fill the rest of your collection.
A pull costs one ticket and ten pulls cost ten tickets or one x10 ticket. Tickets are earned in runs, from missions and from chests and are never sold for money. A duplicate turns into 120 coins, or 360 if it is the shiny version. The full odds and the pity rule are in the gacha guide.
Shiny Excadrill exists in this game. One pull in a hundred is a shiny, and wild enemies are shiny one time in 4096. Read the shiny guide for the details.
Excadrill as an enemy
Excadrill can show up as a regular enemy from 4:20 into the run (enemy tier 4 and 5). Each run draws only seven Pokemon per tier, so it is in some runs and absent from others.
Its enemy role is zoner: it drops damaging zones on the ground after a short warning.
It is also strong enough to be picked as a boss: it can fill the minute 3 slot. Boss fights are laid out in the bosses guide. Its attack set would be a ground slam, a leap onto your position, falling danger zones, and a ring of shots.
