What Bonemerang does

Bonemerang is a Ground-type boomerang move. A bone that flies out and back, hitting hard.

A Pokemon can learn it if it is Ground-type, which is true of 70 of the 966 Pokemon. It reaches you as a new-move card when you level up, as long as one of your four move slots is free. No Pokemon begins a run with it, so you only find it on level-up cards. Each level-up draws three cards by weight from up to six new-move candidates, your move upgrades and the stat cards, so even a good move can sit out several level-ups.

It knocks enemies back.

Bonemerang stats by level

At level 1, Bonemerang deals 16 damage with a 0.95 second cooldown. At level 5 that becomes 32 damage every 0.95 seconds.

A boomerang hits on the way out and on the way back, so one throw can hit the same enemy twice, and the damage you get depends on how many enemies it passes through. The table lists every number the game gives Bonemerang, so it has no single damage per second figure.

Bonemerang evolution: Bone Rush

Bonemerang evolves into Bone Rush when it reaches level 5 and you have taken the Power card at least once in the same run. Once both are true, a golden evolution card is always offered at your next level-up.
