Stats and Stat Score
Eternatus has 133 HP, 133 speed and a 1.50x attack multiplier. The multiplier scales every move it uses, so it is the number to watch.

Eternatus moves
Pokemon that are not starters begin with the signature move of their first type, so Eternatus starts every run with Sludge: toxic sludge that poisons on impact.
The level-up cards can then offer 14 different moves: the 8 Normal moves that every Pokemon shares plus 6 moves of its own types. Moves level up to level 5 and can evolve once you also take the stat card they need, which is covered in the move evolution guide. The permanent Repertoire upgrade adds a second, random starting move; see the upgrades guide.
- Normal moves: Tackle, Quick Attack, Swords Dance, Agility, Harden, Body Slam, Hyper Voice, Substitute
- Poison moves: Sludge, Poison Sting, Toxic, Toxic Spikes
- Dragon moves: Dragon Rage, Dragon Dance
Weaknesses and resistances
Eternatus takes extra damage from Ice (1.6x), Ground (1.6x), Psychic (1.6x), and Dragon (1.6x). It resists Grass (0.36x), Fire (0.6x), Water (0.6x), Electric (0.6x), Fighting (0.6x), Poison (0.6x), and Bug (0.6x). The remaining 7 of 18 types deal normal damage. The chart is softer than the main games: a super-effective hit is x1.6, a resisted hit x0.6 and an immunity x0.3, and two types multiply with each other inside the range 0.3 to 2.4. See the type chart guide for every matchup.
The multipliers apply to the damage you take, and enemies attack with the first type listed for them, so the dangerous enemies for Eternatus are the ones whose first type is Ice, Ground, Psychic, or Dragon. Boss shots carry their first type too. Weather does not change these numbers, but it changes your own damage; see the weather guide. There is no same-type bonus, so Poison or Dragon moves do not hit harder just because Eternatus shares the type.
How to get Eternatus
Eternatus is part of the Galar banner. A single pull first picks a rarity (1.5% for Legendary) and then picks one of the 12 Legendary Pokemon on that banner at random, so one pull gives Eternatus a 0.13% chance. Every banner has its own pity counter: the 70th pull without a 5-star is always a 5-star, which works out to about 43.5 pulls per 5-star and roughly 522 pulls to land this particular one.
A pull costs one ticket and ten pulls cost ten tickets or one x10 ticket. Tickets are earned in runs, from missions and from chests and are never sold for money. A duplicate turns into 300 coins, or 900 if it is the shiny version. The full odds and the pity rule are in the gacha guide.
Shiny Eternatus exists in this game. One pull in a hundred is a shiny, and wild enemies are shiny one time in 4096. Read the shiny guide for the details.
Eternatus as an enemy
Eternatus never shows up as a regular enemy because 5-star Pokemon are left out of the enemy cast.
As a legendary it can also be the opponent in a rift. The game picks a rift legendary at random and favors the ones you have not beaten yet, then builds an arena from one of its types: Toxic Swamp (Poison) or Dragon Sanctuary (Dragon). Its attack set is a ground slam, a leap onto your position, falling danger zones, and a fan of shots. See the rifts guide and the legendaries guide.
