Stats and Stat Score
Inkay has 94 HP, 97 speed and a 1.00x attack multiplier. The multiplier scales every move it uses, so it is the number to watch.
Compared with the whole roster, its HP is below average, its speed is below average and its attack is among the lowest on the roster. Weighting attack at half and HP and speed at a quarter each gives the Stat Score of 30.6, which puts it at rank 825 overall, rank 60 of 70 among Kalos Pokemon and rank 56 of 60 Dark-types and 84 of 96 Psychic-types. The score comes from the game's stat table, not from playtests, so read it together with the best Pokemon guide.
On the full Pokedex ranking Inkay sits next to Ekans one place above it and Starly one place below it.

Inkay moves
Pokemon that are not starters begin with the signature move of their first type, so Inkay starts every run with Bite: a quick bite that knocks foes back.
The level-up cards can then offer 15 different moves: the 8 Normal moves that every Pokemon shares plus 7 moves of its own types. Moves level up to level 5 and can evolve once you also take the stat card they need, which is covered in the move evolution guide. The permanent Repertoire upgrade adds a second, random starting move; see the upgrades guide.
- Normal moves: Tackle, Quick Attack, Swords Dance, Agility, Harden, Body Slam, Hyper Voice, Substitute
- Dark moves: Bite, Dark Pulse, Night Shade
- Psychic moves: Confusion, Psybeam, Psychic, Psycho Cut
Weaknesses and resistances
Inkay takes extra damage from Bug (2.4x) and Fairy (1.6x). It resists Psychic (0.3x). The remaining 15 of 18 types deal normal damage. The chart is softer than the main games: a super-effective hit is x1.6, a resisted hit x0.6 and an immunity x0.3, and two types multiply with each other inside the range 0.3 to 2.4. See the type chart guide for every matchup.
The multipliers apply to the damage you take, and enemies attack with the first type listed for them, so the dangerous enemies for Inkay are the ones whose first type is Bug or Fairy, which hit for up to 2.4x. Boss shots carry their first type too. Weather does not change these numbers, but it changes your own damage; see the weather guide. There is no same-type bonus, so Dark or Psychic moves do not hit harder just because Inkay shares the type.
How to get Inkay
Inkay is part of the Kalos banner. A single pull first picks a rarity (45% for Common) and then picks one of the 15 Common Pokemon on that banner at random, so one pull gives Inkay a 3% chance. Without pity helping at this rarity, expect to need around 33 pulls for this one in particular, although the pulls you spend on the banner also fill the rest of your collection.
A pull costs one ticket and ten pulls cost ten tickets or one x10 ticket. Tickets are earned in runs, from missions and from chests and are never sold for money. A duplicate turns into 15 coins, or 45 if it is the shiny version. The full odds and the pity rule are in the gacha guide.
Shiny Inkay exists in this game. One pull in a hundred is a shiny, and wild enemies are shiny one time in 4096. Read the shiny guide for the details.
Inkay as an enemy
Inkay can show up as a regular enemy from 0:00 into the run (enemy tier 1). Each run draws only seven Pokemon per tier, so it is in some runs and absent from others.
Its enemy role is chaser: it walks straight at you and hurts you on contact.
