Stats and Stat Score
Tauros has 104 HP, 124 speed and a 1.25x attack multiplier. The multiplier scales every move it uses, so it is the number to watch.
Compared with the whole roster, its HP is above average, its speed is among the best on the roster and its attack is above average. Weighting attack at half and HP and speed at a quarter each gives the Stat Score of 64.2, which puts it at rank 224 overall, rank 26 of 151 among Kanto Pokemon and rank 22 of 120 Normal-types. The score comes from the game's stat table, not from playtests, so read it together with the best Pokemon guide.
On the full Pokedex ranking Tauros sits next to Chansey one place above it and Incineroar one place below it.

Tauros moves
Pokemon that are not starters begin with the signature move of their first type, so Tauros starts every run with Tackle: charges in an arc at everything in front of you.
The level-up cards can then offer 8 different moves: the 8 Normal moves that every Pokemon shares. Moves level up to level 5 and can evolve once you also take the stat card they need, which is covered in the move evolution guide. The permanent Repertoire upgrade adds a second, random starting move; see the upgrades guide.
- Normal moves: Tackle, Quick Attack, Swords Dance, Agility, Harden, Body Slam, Hyper Voice, Substitute
Weaknesses and resistances
Tauros takes extra damage from Fighting (1.6x). It resists Ghost (0.3x). The remaining 16 of 18 types deal normal damage. The chart is softer than the main games: a super-effective hit is x1.6, a resisted hit x0.6 and an immunity x0.3, and two types multiply with each other inside the range 0.3 to 2.4. See the type chart guide for every matchup.
The multipliers apply to the damage you take, and enemies attack with the first type listed for them, so the dangerous enemies for Tauros are the ones whose first type is Fighting. Boss shots carry their first type too. Weather does not change these numbers, but it changes your own damage; see the weather guide. There is no same-type bonus, so Normal moves do not hit harder just because Tauros shares the type.
How to get Tauros
Tauros is part of the Kanto banner. A single pull first picks a rarity (17% for Rare) and then picks one of the 38 Rare Pokemon on that banner at random, so one pull gives Tauros a 0.45% chance. Without pity helping at this rarity, expect to need around 224 pulls for this one in particular, although the pulls you spend on the banner also fill the rest of your collection.
A pull costs one ticket and ten pulls cost ten tickets or one x10 ticket. Tickets are earned in runs, from missions and from chests and are never sold for money. A duplicate turns into 60 coins, or 180 if it is the shiny version. The full odds and the pity rule are in the gacha guide.
A rarity-3 Pokemon like Tauros can also turn up as the Lost Pokemon event in a run. Lead it to the marker and, one time in five, it joins your collection; you always get coins, a ticket and a heal.
Shiny Tauros exists in this game. One pull in a hundred is a shiny, and wild enemies are shiny one time in 4096. Read the shiny guide for the details.
Tauros as an enemy
Tauros can show up as a regular enemy from 4:20 into the run (enemy tier 4). Each run draws only seven Pokemon per tier, so it is in some runs and absent from others.
Its enemy role is jumper: it leaps onto your position every few seconds once you are close.
It is also strong enough to be picked as a boss: it can fill the minute 3 slot. Boss fights are laid out in the bosses guide. Its attack set would be a ground slam, a leap onto your position, a fan of shots, and a ring of shots.
