Stats and Stat Score
Aurorus has 125 HP, 102 speed and a 1.24x attack multiplier. The multiplier scales every move it uses, so it is the number to watch.
Compared with the whole roster, its HP is among the best on the roster, its speed is below average and its attack is above average. Weighting attack at half and HP and speed at a quarter each gives the Stat Score of 63.1, which puts it at rank 248 overall, rank 15 of 70 among Kalos Pokemon and rank 16 of 66 Rock-types and 13 of 46 Ice-types. The score comes from the game's stat table, not from playtests, so read it together with the best Pokemon guide.
On the full Pokedex ranking Aurorus sits next to Cinccino one place above it and Wyrdeer one place below it.

Aurorus moves
Pokemon that are not starters begin with the signature move of their first type, so Aurorus starts every run with Rock Throw: a heavy boulder that pushes the enemy back.
The level-up cards can then offer 13 different moves: the 8 Normal moves that every Pokemon shares plus 5 moves of its own types. Moves level up to level 5 and can evolve once you also take the stat card they need, which is covered in the move evolution guide. The permanent Repertoire upgrade adds a second, random starting move; see the upgrades guide.
- Normal moves: Tackle, Quick Attack, Swords Dance, Agility, Harden, Body Slam, Hyper Voice, Substitute
- Rock moves: Rock Throw, Rock Slide
- Ice moves: Ice Beam, Powder Snow, Hail
Weaknesses and resistances
Aurorus takes extra damage from Fighting (2.4x), Steel (2.4x), Water (1.6x), Grass (1.6x), Ground (1.6x), and Rock (1.6x). It resists Normal (0.6x), Ice (0.6x), Poison (0.6x), and Flying (0.6x). The remaining 8 of 18 types deal normal damage. The chart is softer than the main games: a super-effective hit is x1.6, a resisted hit x0.6 and an immunity x0.3, and two types multiply with each other inside the range 0.3 to 2.4. See the type chart guide for every matchup.
The multipliers apply to the damage you take, and enemies attack with the first type listed for them, so the dangerous enemies for Aurorus are the ones whose first type is Fighting, Steel, Water, Grass, Ground, or Rock, which hit for up to 2.4x. Boss shots carry their first type too. Weather does not change these numbers, but it changes your own damage; see the weather guide. There is no same-type bonus, so Rock or Ice moves do not hit harder just because Aurorus shares the type.
How to get Aurorus
Aurorus is part of the Kalos banner. A single pull first picks a rarity (6.5% for Epic) and then picks one of the 17 Epic Pokemon on that banner at random, so one pull gives Aurorus a 0.38% chance. Without pity helping at this rarity, expect to need around 262 pulls for this one in particular, although the pulls you spend on the banner also fill the rest of your collection.
A pull costs one ticket and ten pulls cost ten tickets or one x10 ticket. Tickets are earned in runs, from missions and from chests and are never sold for money. A duplicate turns into 120 coins, or 360 if it is the shiny version. The full odds and the pity rule are in the gacha guide.
Shiny Aurorus exists in this game. One pull in a hundred is a shiny, and wild enemies are shiny one time in 4096. Read the shiny guide for the details.
Aurorus as an enemy
Aurorus can show up as a regular enemy from 6:20 into the run (enemy tier 5). Each run draws only seven Pokemon per tier, so it is in some runs and absent from others.
Its enemy role is charger: it stops to aim for about half a second and then dashes in a straight line at more than three times its walking speed.
It is also strong enough to be picked as a boss: it can fill the minute 3 or minute 6 slot. Boss fights are laid out in the bosses guide. Its attack set would be a ground slam, a leap onto your position, falling danger zones, and a ring of shots.
