Stats and Stat Score
Giratina has 138 HP, 116 speed and a 1.25x attack multiplier. The multiplier scales every move it uses, so it is the number to watch.
Compared with the whole roster, its HP is among the best on the roster, its speed is well above average and its attack is above average. Weighting attack at half and HP and speed at a quarter each gives the Stat Score of 76.1, which puts it at rank 65 overall, rank 9 of 107 among Sinnoh Pokemon and rank 7 of 60 Ghost-types and 19 of 67 Dragon-types. The score comes from the game's stat table, not from playtests, so read it together with the best Pokemon guide.
On the full Pokedex ranking Giratina sits next to Iron Valiant one place above it and Naganadel one place below it.

Giratina moves
Pokemon that are not starters begin with the signature move of their first type, so Giratina starts every run with Shadow Ball: a shadowy orb that pierces several foes.
The level-up cards can then offer 13 different moves: the 8 Normal moves that every Pokemon shares plus 5 moves of its own types. Moves level up to level 5 and can evolve once you also take the stat card they need, which is covered in the move evolution guide. The permanent Repertoire upgrade adds a second, random starting move; see the upgrades guide.
- Normal moves: Tackle, Quick Attack, Swords Dance, Agility, Harden, Body Slam, Hyper Voice, Substitute
- Ghost moves: Lick, Shadow Ball, Hex
- Dragon moves: Dragon Rage, Dragon Dance
Weaknesses and resistances
Giratina takes extra damage from Ice (1.6x), Ghost (1.6x), Dragon (1.6x), Dark (1.6x), and Fairy (1.6x). It resists Normal (0.3x), Fighting (0.3x), Fire (0.6x), Water (0.6x), Electric (0.6x), Grass (0.6x), Poison (0.6x), and Bug (0.6x). The remaining 5 of 18 types deal normal damage. The chart is softer than the main games: a super-effective hit is x1.6, a resisted hit x0.6 and an immunity x0.3, and two types multiply with each other inside the range 0.3 to 2.4. See the type chart guide for every matchup.
The multipliers apply to the damage you take, and enemies attack with the first type listed for them, so the dangerous enemies for Giratina are the ones whose first type is Ice, Ghost, Dragon, Dark, or Fairy. Boss shots carry their first type too. Weather does not change these numbers, but it changes your own damage; see the weather guide. There is no same-type bonus, so Ghost or Dragon moves do not hit harder just because Giratina shares the type.
How to get Giratina
Giratina is part of the Sinnoh banner. A single pull first picks a rarity (1.5% for Legendary) and then picks one of the 15 Legendary Pokemon on that banner at random, so one pull gives Giratina a 0.1% chance. Every banner has its own pity counter: the 70th pull without a 5-star is always a 5-star, which works out to about 43.5 pulls per 5-star and roughly 653 pulls to land this particular one.
A pull costs one ticket and ten pulls cost ten tickets or one x10 ticket. Tickets are earned in runs, from missions and from chests and are never sold for money. A duplicate turns into 300 coins, or 900 if it is the shiny version. The full odds and the pity rule are in the gacha guide.
Shiny Giratina exists in this game. One pull in a hundred is a shiny, and wild enemies are shiny one time in 4096. Read the shiny guide for the details.
Giratina as an enemy
Giratina never shows up as a regular enemy because 5-star Pokemon are left out of the enemy cast.
As a legendary it can also be the opponent in a rift. The game picks a rift legendary at random and favors the ones you have not beaten yet, then builds an arena from one of its types: Gloomy Graveyard (Ghost) or Dragon Sanctuary (Dragon). Its attack set is a ground slam, a leap onto your position, a fan of beams, and a ring of shots. See the rifts guide and the legendaries guide.
