Stats and Stat Score
Torterra has 113 HP, 102 speed and a 1.30x attack multiplier. The multiplier scales every move it uses, so it is the number to watch.

Weighting attack at half and HP and speed at a quarter each gives the Stat Score of 61.7, which puts it at rank 279 overall, rank 41 of 107 among Sinnoh Pokemon and rank 24 of 118 Grass-types and 19 of 70 Ground-types. The score comes from the game's stat table, not from playtests, so read it together with the best Pokemon guide.

Torterra moves
Pokemon that are not starters begin with the signature move of their first type, so Torterra starts every run with Vine Whip: long-range whips in a wide arc.
The level-up cards can then offer 16 different moves: the 8 Normal moves that every Pokemon shares plus 8 moves of its own types. Moves level up to level 5 and can evolve once you also take the stat card they need, which is covered in the move evolution guide. The permanent Repertoire upgrade adds a second, random starting move; see the upgrades guide.
- Normal moves: Tackle, Quick Attack, Swords Dance, Agility, Harden, Body Slam, Hyper Voice, Substitute
- Grass moves: Vine Whip, Razor Leaf, Petal Blizzard, Grass Knot
- Ground moves: Mud Shot, Bulldoze, Bonemerang, Spikes
Weaknesses and resistances
Torterra takes extra damage from Ice (2.4x), Fire (1.6x), Flying (1.6x), and Bug (1.6x). It resists Electric (0.3x), Ground (0.6x), and Rock (0.6x). The remaining 11 of 18 types deal normal damage. The chart is softer than the main games: a super-effective hit is x1.6, a resisted hit x0.6 and an immunity x0.3, and two types multiply with each other inside the range 0.3 to 2.4. See the type chart guide for every matchup.
The multipliers apply to the damage you take, and enemies attack with the first type listed for them, so the dangerous enemies for Torterra are the ones whose first type is Ice, Fire, Flying, or Bug, which hit for up to 2.4x. Boss shots carry their first type too. Weather does not change these numbers, but it changes your own damage; see the weather guide. There is no same-type bonus, so Grass or Ground moves do not hit harder just because Torterra shares the type.
How to get Torterra
Torterra is part of the Sinnoh banner. A single pull first picks a rarity (6.5% for Epic) and then picks one of the 32 Epic Pokemon on that banner at random, so one pull gives Torterra a 0.2% chance. Without pity helping at this rarity, expect to need around 492 pulls for this one in particular, although the pulls you spend on the banner also fill the rest of your collection.
A pull costs one ticket and ten pulls cost ten tickets or one x10 ticket. Tickets are earned in runs, from missions and from chests and are never sold for money. A duplicate turns into 120 coins, or 360 if it is the shiny version. The full odds and the pity rule are in the gacha guide.
Shiny Torterra exists in this game. One pull in a hundred is a shiny, and wild enemies are shiny one time in 4096. Read the shiny guide for the details.
Torterra as an enemy
Torterra can show up as a regular enemy from 6:20 into the run (enemy tier 5). Each run draws only seven Pokemon per tier, so it is in some runs and absent from others.
Its enemy role is zoner: it drops damaging zones on the ground after a short warning.
It is also strong enough to be picked as a boss: it can fill the minute 3 or minute 6 slot. Boss fights are laid out in the bosses guide. Its attack set would be a ground slam, a leap onto your position, falling danger zones, and a fan of shots.
