| Found in | Bosses, rift legendaries, chests |

How Choice Band works
The bonus applies to every move you own. What gets locked is the active slot: you keep firing the move, or the bonded group of moves, that was active when you picked the item up.
New moves still go into other slots, but you cannot switch to them while you carry the band. A bond fusion does not move you to the new group either, unless your own slot is the one being merged.
Power cards multiply your damage by 1.1 each, and the band multiplies the result by 1.4. The table shows both on top of whatever your Pokemon and upgrades already give.
| Power cards taken | Damage multiplier without the band | Damage multiplier with the band |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | x1 | x1.4 |
| 3 | x1.33 | x1.86 |
| 5 | x1.61 | x2.25 |
| 10 | x2.59 | x3.63 |
| 20 | x6.73 | x9.42 |
Choice Band compared with cards and upgrades
A bonus of +40% matches about 3.5 Power cards, or a fully bought Strength upgrade, and it costs no card and no coins.
Cards come from level-ups during a run and upgrades are bought with coins between runs, while a held item takes the single item slot. The table puts them side by side. The upgrades guide covers the whole shop.
| Source | Bonus | Cost or limit |
|---|---|---|
| Choice Band | +40% damage | Free; locks the active move slot |
| Power card | +10% damage each, multiplies | A level-up card; up to 40 |
| Strength upgrade | +4% damage per level (up to +40%) | 5,050 coins in total |
Trade-off and when to take Choice Band
You cannot react to a changing fight by swapping slots.
Take it when the move in your active slot is already your damage engine, for example one you have evolved or fused with a bond. The band then multiplies the thing you were going to rely on anyway.
Skip it when your build depends on switching between slots, such as a buff move in one slot and an attack in another, because you could not switch to the second slot.
How to find Choice Band
Held items come from three places. Every boss drops one, and a full run has five bosses, at minutes 3, 6, 9, 12 and 15. A locked chest holds one half the time, and an ordinary chest 8% of the time. Rift legendaries drop one as well. The bosses guide lists every boss and the rifts guide covers the legendaries.
Each drop picks one of the 11 items at random with no memory of what you carry, so a given drop is Choice Band one time in 11 (9.1%). Over the 5 boss drops of a full run that is a 38% chance of meeting Choice Band at least once, before counting chests.
You carry one item at a time. If you find a second, the game pauses and asks which to keep, and in a group it pauses for everyone. Finding the item you already carry changes nothing: you are told you already carry it and play on. The full list is on the held items page.
