Stats and Stat Score
Marshadow has 110 HP, 130 speed and a 1.39x attack multiplier. The multiplier scales every move it uses, so it is the number to watch.
Compared with the whole roster, its HP is well above average, its speed is among the best on the roster and its attack is well above average. Weighting attack at half and HP and speed at a quarter each gives the Stat Score of 79.1, which puts it at rank 44 overall, rank 8 of 83 among Alola Pokemon and rank 6 of 68 Fighting-types and 4 of 60 Ghost-types. The score comes from the game's stat table, not from playtests, so read it together with the best Pokemon guide.
On the full Pokedex ranking Marshadow sits next to Salamence one place above it and Archeops one place below it.

Marshadow moves
Pokemon that are not starters begin with the signature move of their first type, so Marshadow starts every run with Karate Chop: a sharp, powerful blow straight ahead.
The level-up cards can then offer 13 different moves: the 8 Normal moves that every Pokemon shares plus 5 moves of its own types. Moves level up to level 5 and can evolve once you also take the stat card they need, which is covered in the move evolution guide. The permanent Repertoire upgrade adds a second, random starting move; see the upgrades guide.
- Normal moves: Tackle, Quick Attack, Swords Dance, Agility, Harden, Body Slam, Hyper Voice, Substitute
- Fighting moves: Karate Chop, Aura Sphere
- Ghost moves: Lick, Shadow Ball, Hex
Weaknesses and resistances
Marshadow takes extra damage from Flying (1.6x), Psychic (1.6x), Ghost (1.6x), and Fairy (1.6x). It resists Normal (0.3x), Fighting (0.3x), Bug (0.36x), Poison (0.6x), and Rock (0.6x). The remaining 9 of 18 types deal normal damage. The chart is softer than the main games: a super-effective hit is x1.6, a resisted hit x0.6 and an immunity x0.3, and two types multiply with each other inside the range 0.3 to 2.4. See the type chart guide for every matchup.
The multipliers apply to the damage you take, and enemies attack with the first type listed for them, so the dangerous enemies for Marshadow are the ones whose first type is Flying, Psychic, Ghost, or Fairy. Boss shots carry their first type too. Weather does not change these numbers, but it changes your own damage; see the weather guide. There is no same-type bonus, so Fighting or Ghost moves do not hit harder just because Marshadow shares the type.
How to get Marshadow
Marshadow is part of the Alola banner. A single pull first picks a rarity (1.5% for Legendary) and then picks one of the 17 Legendary Pokemon on that banner at random, so one pull gives Marshadow a 0.09% chance. Every banner has its own pity counter: the 70th pull without a 5-star is always a 5-star, which works out to about 43.5 pulls per 5-star and roughly 740 pulls to land this particular one.
A pull costs one ticket and ten pulls cost ten tickets or one x10 ticket. Tickets are earned in runs, from missions and from chests and are never sold for money. A duplicate turns into 300 coins, or 900 if it is the shiny version. The full odds and the pity rule are in the gacha guide.
Shiny Marshadow exists in this game. One pull in a hundred is a shiny, and wild enemies are shiny one time in 4096. Read the shiny guide for the details.
Marshadow as an enemy
Marshadow never shows up as a regular enemy because 5-star Pokemon are left out of the enemy cast.
As a legendary it can also be the opponent in a rift. The game picks a rift legendary at random and favors the ones you have not beaten yet, then builds an arena from one of its types: Ancient Dojo (Fighting) or Gloomy Graveyard (Ghost). Its attack set is a ground slam, a leap onto your position, a ring of shots, and a fan of beams. See the rifts guide and the legendaries guide.
