Stats and Stat Score
Toxapex has 92 HP, 93 speed and a 1.05x attack multiplier. The multiplier scales every move it uses, so it is the number to watch.
Compared with the whole roster, its HP is among the lowest on the roster, its speed is among the lowest on the roster and its attack is below average. Weighting attack at half and HP and speed at a quarter each gives the Stat Score of 31.3, which puts it at rank 816 overall, rank 69 of 83 among Alola Pokemon and rank 60 of 78 Poison-types and 127 of 149 Water-types. The score comes from the game's stat table, not from playtests, so read it together with the best Pokemon guide.
On the full Pokedex ranking Toxapex sits next to Slakoth one place above it and Fidough one place below it.

Toxapex moves
Pokemon that are not starters begin with the signature move of their first type, so Toxapex starts every run with Sludge: toxic sludge that poisons on impact.
The level-up cards can then offer 17 different moves: the 8 Normal moves that every Pokemon shares plus 9 moves of its own types. Moves level up to level 5 and can evolve once you also take the stat card they need, which is covered in the move evolution guide. The permanent Repertoire upgrade adds a second, random starting move; see the upgrades guide.
- Normal moves: Tackle, Quick Attack, Swords Dance, Agility, Harden, Body Slam, Hyper Voice, Substitute
- Poison moves: Sludge, Poison Sting, Toxic, Toxic Spikes
- Water moves: Water Gun, Bubble, Hydro Pump, Aqua Ring, Bubble Beam
Weaknesses and resistances
Toxapex takes extra damage from Electric (1.6x), Ground (1.6x), and Psychic (1.6x). It resists Fire (0.6x), Water (0.6x), Ice (0.6x), Fighting (0.6x), Poison (0.6x), Bug (0.6x), Steel (0.6x), and Fairy (0.6x). The remaining 7 of 18 types deal normal damage. The chart is softer than the main games: a super-effective hit is x1.6, a resisted hit x0.6 and an immunity x0.3, and two types multiply with each other inside the range 0.3 to 2.4. See the type chart guide for every matchup.
The multipliers apply to the damage you take, and enemies attack with the first type listed for them, so the dangerous enemies for Toxapex are the ones whose first type is Electric, Ground, or Psychic. Boss shots carry their first type too. Weather does not change these numbers, but it changes your own damage; see the weather guide. There is no same-type bonus, so Poison or Water moves do not hit harder just because Toxapex shares the type.
How to get Toxapex
Toxapex is part of the Alola banner. A single pull first picks a rarity (6.5% for Epic) and then picks one of the 20 Epic Pokemon on that banner at random, so one pull gives Toxapex a 0.33% chance. Without pity helping at this rarity, expect to need around 308 pulls for this one in particular, although the pulls you spend on the banner also fill the rest of your collection.
A pull costs one ticket and ten pulls cost ten tickets or one x10 ticket. Tickets are earned in runs, from missions and from chests and are never sold for money. A duplicate turns into 120 coins, or 360 if it is the shiny version. The full odds and the pity rule are in the gacha guide.
Shiny Toxapex exists in this game. One pull in a hundred is a shiny, and wild enemies are shiny one time in 4096. Read the shiny guide for the details.
Toxapex as an enemy
Toxapex can show up as a regular enemy from 4:20 into the run (enemy tier 4 and 5). Each run draws only seven Pokemon per tier, so it is in some runs and absent from others.
Its enemy role is chaser: it walks straight at you and hurts you on contact.
It is also strong enough to be picked as a boss: it can fill the minute 3 slot. Boss fights are laid out in the bosses guide. Its attack set would be a ground slam, a straight charge, falling danger zones, and a fan of beams.
